News: UNMETERED.Direct/Cable & DSL - Network Upgrade
Our network partners are moving the services from the existing 10/40G equipment to our new 100G equipment starting on March 5, 2018 from 2am to 6am. During this move all cable Internet access services, Fiber city MDUs will be affected. Please take precaution and avoid using the network during this network upgrade window. Please contact us if you have any questions or reasons for us to delay this network upgrade.
UPDATE (April 10, 2018 - 5:25:12 PM) :
Seeing lots of new subscribers joining our network : we anticipated the network requirement and signed the network expansion contracts back in Dec 2017; and was expecting everything to be completed by about March 1, 2018.
Today we have multiple 100G fibers released and we have the new 100G equipment installed but we are still in the waiting for edge fibers.
We received update from the vendor engineer that our Edmonton and Vancouver Island edge fibers are ready, the backend network engineers are programming the cable segment. I am expecting we will have these cities up next week and other city to follow.
The sequence of fiber release seem to be Edmonton, Vancouver Island, Calgary, Kelowna, Kamloops, Red deer, Vancouver etc.
The Vancouver 20G fibers still delay due to the many cable segments needed engineers to program. I am hoping this will be done and released before April 26, 2018.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba fibers are even more delay, the new release date is sometime in June as this is a huge city and have many cable segments to program.
Hope the above details provide some information on the estimated time of solving the congestion issue.
We apologize for the network congestion. Our management are pushing the vendor to release the fibers each day and we hope we can get this issue all settled this month.
